Coach Dixon

LaSonda Dixon, MAHS Class of 2000, returns to the Middletown basketball court but this time on the sidelines as the head coach. Dixon is a mother of six, five of whom are athletes, and holds a daytime job in human resources. Somehow, she still finds time to coach a travel youth girls’ basketball team which she launched in 2018, play in various Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) tournaments, and even serve as the Sprint Relay Team Coach and Assistant Sprint Coach for the Middletown boys/girls Varsity Track and Field Team in 2019.

Dixon is a MAHS girls’ basketball alumna and was a member of the ‘97-‘98 team that placed 3rd in Districts and went to the sweet 16 in states. She was also a District medalist in track and field and a member of a 4x400 relay team that holds the current school record.

Dixon has over 17 years of coaching experience in youth girls’ basketball. “I have always had a love of the game, and I have a passion for coaching,” says Dixon. “I value family, schoolwork, respect, discipline, confidence, teamwork, and hard work.” Dixon will meet her Lady Raiders in November as they prepare for their 22-game season which will begin on December 7 with a home scrimmage against Elizabethtown. “I believe that my role as a coach not only teaches young girls how to play the game, but also teaches them life lessons.”

Welcome home, Coach Dixon!
