Parent Survey

Dear MASD Parent/Guardian:

As the District works toward the finalization of the 2021-22 annual budget, it is important that we know your intentions for your child’s instructional model for next school year. We ask that you complete this brief survey for each child in your household no later than Wednesday, June 2, 2021. Full descriptions of each instructional model are listed within the survey. Please complete the survey with the following in mind:

  1. As of now, MASD plans to return to K-12 in-person learning five days per week effective August 30, 2021.
  2. Raider Academy will continue to serve as the District’s full-time cyber learning option K-12 (asynchronous platform).
  3. The availability of the full remote option has not yet been determined and is contingent upon the need vs. the budgetary feasibility of having select teachers assigned solely to teach via Zoom. Brick-and-mortar teachers will no longer be teaching in both the physical and online environments simultaneously as was offered during the pandemic.

Also, this week superintendents were informed that each school district is required to develop and submit a Plan for the Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Instruction (also known as a Health & Safety Plan) to the PA Department of Education by July 31, 2021. My successor, Dr. Hunter, will be responsible for the development of this plan, subject to School Board approval, in July.

Thank you in advance for taking the survey so that we can use this data to finalize the 2021-22 budget.

Superintendent of Schools
