Free Meals

On Monday, August 31, 2020, the United States Department of Agriculture announced that they were extending a waiver which allows free breakfast and lunch to be provided to school students through December 31, 2020. On Wednesday, September 2, 2020, the Pennsylvania Department of Education sent guidance to school districts about how to apply and implement the program.

Beginning on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, Middletown Area School District will begin offering a FREE breakfast and a FREE lunch to all students on each instructional day of school. The free meal must be a complete meal and will not include à la carte items nor the purchase of an individual drink for those who bring their own lunch.

Please note that participation in this program is optional. Students who choose to pack their lunch will still be permitted to do so at all buildings.

This service will include meals served while students are in school as well as “To Go” meals offered for remote learners. If you would like to have your child receive “To Go” meals and you have not signed up for the program, please contact Tony Colemire by email at tcolemire@raiderweb.org. The "To Go" meal program was explained HERE.

FREE/REDUCED MEAL APPLICATIONS
It is important that eligible families continue to complete their free/reduced meal applications for the 2020-21 school year so that your student does not have a lapse in benefits once this waiver ends on December 31, 2020. You may complete that process HERE.
