Due to the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020, PIAA canceled the spring sports season. Raider spring athletes were robbed of their opportunity to excel on the field and track, and seniors missed out on their final chance to shine. Middletown Area School District recognizes that our athletes had prepared and trained for a season that never happened, so we found ways to honor them for efforts. On several Friday nights in May, War Memorial Field was lit up and banners picturing our senior athletes were on display for a drive-by audience; the Athletic Department made a video collage of senior athletes; the baseball boosters created a video of senior baseball players; the softball team met on the field under social distancing guidelines for a group photo; and the track and field and tennis athletes were invited to take their photos by their team's banner. We wish our senior athletes all the best in their future endeavors on and off the field.
