Giant Donation

Through GIANT’s Feeding School Kids initiative, the District received $8404, to expand school food programs. Receiving the ceremonial check from Middletown GIANT store managers James Kane and Phil Arce were Dr. Chelton Hunter, MASD Superintendent of Schools, Amy Dintiman, MASD Federal & State Programs Fiscal Manager, and students from Reid Elementary and Middletown Area Middle School.
Students pictured are:
Kaylen Chhim, Maya Polachek, Cole Jones, Alex Sharp, Casey Sharp, Paige Berry, Joey Berry, Stella Berry, and Antoin Wagner.

MASD is grateful to GIANT and the Middletown community for 'rounding up' purchases to help ensure all students have access to the nutrition they need to learn and thrive.
The Feeding School Kids initiative is just one partnership MASD has to combat childhood hunger. The District partners with the Blue Raider Foundation, the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, and MidWest Food Bank to provide families in need with bags of food each week called "RaiderPacks," which contain breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack options to cover weekend meals.
The District also offers a summer feeding program. More information will be available towards the end of the school year.
