DHL Career Experience
This spring two groups of MAHS students had the opportunity to tour the new Central Pennsylvania DHL facility and explore career opportunities available within the global logistics company.
Students learned about safety, forklift/high lift operations, used a driving simulator, explored how individual packages, group packages and pallet orders are picked, and were exposed to new robotic technology to help improve the speed of selecting packages.
The visit was aimed at exposing students to job opportunities available within their own community, and careers they can begin right after high school. As this new DHL facility is getting up and running, they are looking to ramp up operations and our Middletown students will be at the forefront of the expansion.
DHL has been a business partner with Middletown Area High School for a number of years, has participated in numerous building career expo events, committee meetings, Pathway Breakfasts, field trips, and other events that have had an impact on our students. These types of experiences allow our students to explore career options and ultimately make an informed decision about their post-secondary career and education decision.
